Post-doctoral Fellows in evidence-based rural education research have multiple year appointments to engage in training experiences, assume leadership roles in related studies, and directly support the primary research studies being conducted through R2Ed. Training experiences include courses in research design, advanced statistical techniques, and grant writing.
Dr. DeChenne, with a background in science education, is working on the research study Efficacy of Rural Professional Development with Coaching for Inquiry-based Instruction in Science. She develops and provides teacher professional development experiences in inquiry-based approaches to middle and high school science teachers.
Dr. Ryoo works directly with the CYFS Statistics and Research Methodology (SRM) Unit. With a background in psychometric and statistical methods, he provides expertise in measurement, evaluation, and statistical approaches for the research studies conducted as part of R2Ed.
